Disassembling the moen 103258 faucet is much like any other single handle faucet.
Take apart moen tub faucet.
If you are disassembling to replace the cartridge take the old cartridge to a home improvement store.
You can pull off the handle with your hands with careful flipping of the handle.
Repairing or replacing the faucet requires taking it apart.
Refer to the picture you ve taken to get it in the right position.
Removing a tub faucet is a relatively easy process that only requires a couple of tools.
To detach a screw on faucet turn the spout counterclockwise to unscrew it and remove it from the wall.

For a slip on faucet find the screw on the underside and remove it with an allen wrench.
Take the cartridge to the hardware store or better yet call your moen faucet supplier for replacement.
Then grab the faucet with your hands and pull it away from the wall.
Once you have your moen replacement cartridge on hand simply install it into the faucet.
But if you find any screw use a screwdriver to remove them.
Lastly wipe out the screws from the faucet to remove it from the basin.
Turn off water to the faucet by turning the valve under the sink clockwise.
So take a picture if you must.
This faucet is an early version of the chateau line before posi temperature controls were added.

Then remove the handle.
To do this use a small flat screwdriver to pry up the decorative cap button or plug at the top of the handle used to hide a screw.
